Man Arrested In Armed Robbery, Handgun Recovered In Atlantic City.

A surveillance operation conducted by the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section resulted in the arrest of a fugitive wanted for an armed robbery that occurred in Absecon last fall, authorities said.

Detectives said they were aware Jaquil Reynolds was wanted and conducted the surveillance operation of a residence in the 100 block of north Delaware Avenue.

Reynolds was observed exiting the residence and entering a vehicle. Detectives converged on the vehicle and interrupted a suspected CDS transaction between Reynolds and the driver, Islamiyah Abdur-Rahman, police said.

Both men were subsequently taken into custody without incident.

Detectives secured the residence and ultimately executed a court-approved search warrant resulting in the recovery of a 9mm handgun fitted with a large capacity magazine, police said.

Detectives also recovered over 200 individual wax folds of heroin, nearly 300 grams of packaged marijuana, several hundred prescription pills. and $2,600 believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Reynolds, 23, of Atlantic City, was charged with multiple weapons and drug offenses.

Abdur-Rahman, 38, of Atlantic City, was charged with the possession of drugs.

Reynolds was sent to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Abdur-Rahman was released on a summons pending a future court date.
